Mining Engineering Feasibility Study and Design for MUKULU Manganese Mine in South Africa

Project Profile

Capacity: 3,500,000 t/a

Client: AMG

Project overview: Located in the famous manganese belt of the Northern Cape Province, South Africa, bordering the operating Nchwaning manganese mine owned by Assmang (South Africa). The project involves phased mining of shallow and deep orebodies. Development uses a combination of ramps and horizontal drifts, with ore transport via an inclined belt conveyor. The processing includes two-stage crushing, multi-stage screening and classification, and product stockpiling by grade, achieving a product yield of over 90%. Construction of the open-pit mining operation for the shallow orebody ATOB is currently underway. The deep orebody is in the early design phase.
