The EPC contract was recently signed between JCHX Mining and Greenward in respect of the 11.87 MWp PV + 40 MWh grid-forming energy storage system at Dikulushi Copper Mine in the DRC.
The scope of work includes the design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of the solar storage power system, and the delivery of an integrated, functional and operable system to JCHX. The project adopts an operation mode of “PV priority, energy storage regulation, and diesel generation backup” to guarantee continuous and stable power supply for the mine site. It enhances the operational resilience of the enterprise against fuel price fluctuations and carbon constraints. By reducing diesel consumption and emissions, the project improves the environment of the mine and its surrounding areas. While creating favorable conditions for the long-term stable and sustainable operation of the project, it optimizes the mine’s energy structure and cuts energy costs, setting a new benchmark for green and low-carbon cooperation in mining.
Mr. Wang Qinghai, Chairman of JCHX Mining, stated that Greenward has delivered multiple benchmark projects in the field of mine microgrids in Africa with solid project outcomes. It is hoped that by building a safe, stable and economical power supply system for Dikulushi, both parties will jointly advance the in-depth and innovative application of green energy in the international mining sector.
Mr. Wang Fangqing, President of Greenward New Energy Technology, stated that Greenward has successfully implemented multiple industry-first mine microgrid and fully off-grid grid-forming projects in the DRC, helping clients reduce costs and cut carbon emissions. For this cooperation, leveraging its mature grid-forming microgrid technology and engineering management experience, Greenward will strictly control quality to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
